3rd April 2022

I started feeling pain in my back and subsequently found a lump just below my shoulder which caused me concern. After visiting the GP I was given a few options including being referred to Mr Gnanalingham for further diagnosis which I took up. After an initial consultation I was quickly referred for an MRI scan. I then saw Mr Gnanalingham and he showed me the various scans and confirmed the lump to be a suspected lipoma, but as it was causing some pain he discussed with me the various options including surgery to remove the lump which is the route I opted for. On the day of the operation, Mr Gnanalingham came to see me before the operation along with various other members of his great team. Again in recovery and later in the day he came again to see me before discharging me the same evening. The care throughout the day was exceptional. I then visited Mr Gnanalingham 3 weeks after the operation to ensure all was good, and that everything was healing as expected. During my entire experience from booking the initial consultation through to aftercare Vaani (Mr Gnanalingham's PA) was in constant contact via phone and email ensuring I was aware of the various stages, next steps and aftercare. I am now pain free thanks to Mr Gnanalingham and his team.

I was referred to Mr Gnanalingham in April 2021 having suffered from chronic back pain and bilateral buttock/calf pains for more than six months. He quickly diagnosed the problem and outlined various treatment options including surgery which I was loathe to have. The other option was an epidural injection which I have now received. I am currently virtually free of pain and able to lead a normal life. There is no certainty as to how long the injection will last but he will continue to monitor me and I am eternally grateful to him for the care I have received under his supervision.

I was referred for an initial consultation with Mr Kanna Gnanalingham. He sent me for tests (X-rays,CT scan and MRI scan) and then we had a follow-up consultation. He was very clear in his explanations and diagnosis. As the condition is in its early stages he did not push me towards surgery but recommended physio and monitoring of my symptoms. I am very happy with that outcome. His PA Mrs Vaani Navaratman was very efficient and helpful, which added to the high quality of the whole experience.

I first saw Mr. Gnanalingham about 5 years ago after suffering terrible back and leg pains for a number of years. I had previously had back surgery many years ago but unfortunately the symptoms returned, only worse this time. I was referred, thankfully, to Mr. Gnanalingham by my GP. Over the course of the last few years and before Covid, I had a number of consultations with Mr. Gnanalingham and received back injections to relieve my pain. Unfortunately the pain freeing effects, although wonderful, never lasted for more than a few months if I was lucky. During the course of one of my consultations, the latest MRI scan results were not available but whilst Mr. Gnanalingham was looking on the computer for them, he found a scan I had had done of my neck at another hospital. I was informed by a doctor at that hospital, I needed no treatment. When Mr. Gnanalingham looked at the scan, he could see a couple of discs in my neck were very close to my spinal cord. He told me without intervention, if I had been in a situation which caused a jolt to my neck, I could have been left paralysed. He arranged to carry out the surgery as soon as possible, which was a great success. This operation caused a delay in having my back surgery but I believe without Mr. Gnanalingham's expertise thankfully seeing what the other doctor missed, my life could have been very different. I finally had my back surgery recently and as it stands at this moment in time, I am without pain in both my back and legs. I even managed to walk for over 2 hours straight, I hadn't been able to manage more than about 10 minutes previously for a very long time. A HUGE thank you to him and his whole team. From the moment I met Mr. Gnanalingham, he was very approachable, ready to listen, easy to chat to and explained everything in a really easy and understandable way. I can say without any embarrassment, that Mr. Gnanalingham has proved to be my Guardian Angel these last few years. I cannot thank him enough for his wonderful care. I would also like to give a shout out to his P.A., Vaani, she has also helped me so much over the years, always willing to help and always keeping in contact.

I was treated for spinal stenosis by Mr Gnanalingham over the past year. Following an initial consultation he ordered an MRI scan and X rays and informed me about my condition and ways forward. His manner was excellent showing empathy with my problem and assuring me it could be alleviated. Initially, I undertook conservative treatment by a physio and then he gave me an epidural which alleviated the pain for a few months. However, the pain returned and we then discussed the possibility of surgery. Throughout, I was fully involved in decisions about my treatment and trusted his judgement and suggestions. I had a L4/L5 decompression surgery and bone graft which has been a real success. I would thoroughly recommend Mr Gnanalingham.
